Ferguson Home is a real retailer, a Ferguson Enterprises company, and it’s the new home of Build.com. The 90-day return window on most items is decent. The problem is service: reviewers keep complaining about backorders, slow refunds and damaged deliveries. This Ferguson Home review covers what it sells, how shipping and returns actually work, and who should skip it.

What is Ferguson Home?

Ferguson Home (fergusonhome.com) is where Build.com and Ferguson’s Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery showrooms now live under one name. Ferguson says old Build.com logins still work and the return policy carried over. You can shop online or book a one-on-one consultation at a showroom. There’s also a Project Tool for saving products by room and sharing the list with a contractor or designer.

The catalog covers bathroom, kitchen, lighting, appliances, hardware, fans, flooring and HVAC. Trade professionals can register for a Pro account with its own pricing.

Is Ferguson Home legit?

Yes, in the sense that it’s an established retailer with showrooms and a published return policy. Whether buying from it goes smoothly is a different question. On October 27, 2026, Trustpilot showed fergusonhome.com at 1.7 out of 5 from 36 reviews, and 86% of those were one star. The older Build.com reviews sat at 1.5 out of 5 from 456.

The complaints repeat: wrong or damaged items, backorders, refunds that took weeks or never came, and long waits on the phone. Trustpilot says it doesn’t fact-check reviews, and the fergusonhome.com profile is unclaimed, so it isn’t the full picture. Still, the themes line up with Ferguson’s own terms. Backordered items are charged in full at checkout, an order can only be cancelled in a short window, and return shipping comes out of your refund.

Shipping and delivery

Ferguson Home shipping: free ground over $49, free freight over $1,499, 1 to 5 business days
Shipping terms from Ferguson Home’s shipping policy, read October 27, 2026.

Standard ground shipping is free on orders over $49, and freight is free over $1,499, within the contiguous U.S. Ground takes 1 to 5 business days after warehouse turnaround. Each product page shows when the item is expected to leave the warehouse, so check that date before you pay.

Large and heavy items ship by freight and are delivered curbside, which means you move them from the curb. Some freight deliveries need you home to receive them, and a missed appointment can trigger a delivery fee. Alaska and Hawaii prices don’t include shipping, which is quoted separately.

Ferguson Home return policy

Ferguson Home return windows: 90 days for most items, 30 days for appliances, furniture final sale
Return windows by product type, from Ferguson Home’s returns page, read October 27, 2026.

Appliances30 days from purchaseSet up by phone. Factory sealed and unused, and no rebate claimed.

Refunds are issued 5 to 10 business days after the warehouse receives and inspects the item. Parcel returns use a UPS label. Heavy freight returns are charged a flat rate per pallet, taken from your credit, and a pickup from your door (a call tag) costs $8 per package plus shipping. Full details are on Ferguson’s returns page.

Prices and savings

Ferguson’s Terms of Sale say it doesn’t offer discounts beyond the deals and specials it posts on its own sites. We haven’t tested any coupon codes from third-party sites, so we don’t list one. These are the documented ways to pay less:

  • Clearance Center: exclusives, overstock and closeouts. Remember clearance items can’t be returned for a general refund.
  • Special Pricing: send Ferguson your cart or a contractor bid and ask for a quote. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless your sales associate says otherwise.
  • Pro account: trade professionals get Pro pricing and a dedicated account manager.

Before you order

  1. Read the expected ship date on the product page. A backordered item is charged in full at checkout.
  2. Check the return rule for that product type. Furniture is final sale and appliances get 30 days.
  3. For heavy items, plan for curbside freight and a delivery appointment.
  4. Inspect the delivery before you sign. Ferguson says to refuse visibly damaged freight, photograph it and call, and freight claims have to be filed within two business days.
  5. Keep the original box, and don’t install anything until you’re sure. Installed items aren’t returnable.
  6. Pay with a credit card so you have a dispute option if an order goes wrong. Ferguson accepts all major cards.

We run the same return-policy check on other online purchases. Our Derila Ergo Pillow review shows what a “60-day return” looks like once you read the fine print.

Ferguson Home review verdict: is it worth it?

Pros
✓ Bathroom, kitchen, lighting, hardware and appliances in one catalog
✓ 90-day returns on most items with no restocking fee
✓ Free ground shipping over $49
✓ Showrooms, Pro pricing and quotes for bigger projects

Cons
• Low Trustpilot scores, mostly over delays, refunds and support
• Backordered items are charged in full at checkout
• Return shipping is deducted, and freight returns can be costly
• Furniture is final sale and appliances have just 30 days

Worth it if you’ve picked an exact model, the product page shows it ships soon, and ground shipping works for you. Read the return rule for that product type before you pay.

Skip it if you’re buying furniture, a special order, or a backordered heavy item with a tight remodel deadline. If you’d rather see products first, book a showroom consultation.
