DistroKid Music Distribution 7% OFF
Philip Kaplan launched it in 2013 with a model that broke from how music distribution had always worked: no per-release fees, no cut of streaming royalties — artists keep 100% of what their music earns. That pitch resonated fast; by 2020 DistroKid was reportedly behind roughly 30% of all new songs hitting major streaming services, backed by investment from Spotify itself and firms like Insight Partners at a $1.3 billion valuation in 2021. Since then the company has expanded into adjacent tools, acquiring the artist website builder Bandzoogle in 2023 and rolling out an AI mastering feature called Mixea the same year.
