The company started in Kaunas back in 2004 as Hosting Media before rebranding to Hostinger in 2011, and it grew almost entirely on its own steam rather than outside funding until a private equity firm took a minority stake in 2021. Today it hosts millions of websites across more than 150 countries and has expanded well past hosting into domain registration and an AI-assisted website builder launched in 2023. It also owns 000webhost and Hosting24, two smaller hosting brands under the same parent company.
